The Needs Assessment Subcommittee was established to help develop the Metro Area Roundtable’s basin-wide water needs assessment.

Activities

The subcommittee reviewed the information in their Basin Report which was prepared utilizing information from the Statewide Water Supply Initiative. They also assessed other appropriate sources of information relevant to their needs assessment. Based on these sources of information, the subcommittee has requested technical assistance in the following areas to further develop their needs assessment:

  • Analysis of where providers are looking at the same water as a future supply
  • Update of unappropriated water in the South Platte Basin
  • Impact of water administration changes on the availability of water
  • Impact of reusable water not being available to downstream users
  • Status of conservation
  • Status of IPP’s
The Metro Roundtable and the South Platte Basin Roundtable are jointly developing their basin-wide water needs assessments.
